How does it work? 

 

Ship your battery to us. (MAKE SURE ITS GROUND ONLY VIA UPS OR FED EX ONLY) We will have it finished and shipped back out in 2-3 business days after reciept. 

BE SURE TO PACKAGE YOUR BATTERY WELL WITH BUBBLE WRAP AND THAT IT CAN NOT MOVE AROUND IN THE BOX. IF ITS NOT HARD TO CLOSE THE BOX YOUR NOT USING ENOUGH PACKING MATERIAL.  

 

What is bms bypass mod? 

 

Your stock surron battery, and most production ebike batteries, have a battery management system (BMS). This is what stops the battery from over charging, over discharging, getting too hot or too cold, balancing the cells and so on. When you bypass the bms, this makes it so the controller will draw directly from the battery, and not be limited by the bms

 The stock surron pack is 16s11p of panasonic pf cells (2900mah 10amp) 11p x 10amps is 110amp capable pack. On ebikes you do not run continuous current, but "peak" under heavy load from standstill or going up steep inclines. You can safely pull peak currents of 120amps or more from your stock battery. The issue with bypassing a bms for discharge is that you will no longer have lvc (low voltage cut-off). This means that you can run the battery down to the point of damaging it.  You WILL NEED TO monitor your battery voltage to ensure you do not go below spec for these cells (2.5v per cell x 16s is 40v) I would not go lower than 45v to leave room for error(such as unbalanced cell group or voltage sag).  If you monitor your packs voltage and do not run it down low this can be a very safe and effective way to get more power from your pack.  You will need to check the temperature from time to time

 If your pack is getting red hot that means your pushing the cells too hard. If the pack wont charge after use that means the bms is protecting it from over temp.  When you charge the pack get in the habit of leaving It on the charger for a few hours afterwards to ensure the cells are balanced properly.
